A safe space
to be heard

Warm, empathetic, and confidential counselling in a peaceful garden room, nestled in the heart of Shropshire.

About ME & My Practice

Your thoughts & feelings truly matter

I offer a warm, empathetic, and confidential counselling space where you can feel secure and supported. A space where you can talk freely and feel heard, where your thoughts and feelings truly matter. I work with individuals, couples, and relationships.

Individuals:

Individual counselling offers a confidential, supportive space where you can talk openly about whatever is on your mind, without fear of judgement. It can help you make sense of difficult emotions, manage anxiety, stress, low mood, grief, or life changes, and explore patterns that may be keeping you feeling stuck. Sometimes people come to counselling with a clear issue, and sometimes they simply know that things do not feel quite right. Counselling provides time and space to understand yourself more deeply, build self-awareness and confidence, and find ways of coping that feel right for you. You do not have to be in crisis to seek support. Sometimes having someone alongside you who listens with empathy and acceptance can make all the difference.

Couples & Relationships:

Couples & Relationships counselling offers a safe, supportive space where both people can slow things down and talk openly about what is happening in their relationship. It can help improve communication, rebuild trust, navigate conflict, and deepen understanding of each other’s needs and feelings. People come to counselling for many reasons, including feeling disconnected, struggling after a betrayal, coping with stress, intimacy difficulties, parenting challenges, or simply wanting to strengthen an already good relationship. Counselling is not about taking sides or deciding who is right or wrong. It is about helping both partners feel heard, understood, and better equipped to create a healthier, more fulfilling relationship together.

A little about me.

My name is Paula, and I am a qualified person-centred counsellor. I am registered with the BACP. I hold a Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling and have provided counselling services within the NHS and online via a Community Interest Charity. I have volunteered at two local mental health support services within my community. I run a small private practice at my home in Shrewsbury, and have a dedicated garden room for private, face-to-face sessions, as well as providing online and telephone sessions.

    Areas of Support

Whatever you’re going through, you don’t have to face it alone.

    Chronic Pain, illness

Chronic pain or illness can affect every part of life, impacting mood, energy, sleep, relationships, and the ability to enjoy everyday activities. It can lead to withdrawal, reduced independence, and a sense of loss, with both a physical and emotional burden.

Anxiety, Stress, Depression & Low Mood

Persistent worry, panic attacks, overwhelm, or that constant knot of tension that won’t ease. Feeling flat, hopeless, or disconnected — when life loses its colour and motivation feels out of reach.

    Bereavement & Loss

Grief can be overwhelming. A safe space to process the loss of a loved one or something that mattered deeply. There are many types of losses, including loss of health, identity, relationships, hopes, future plans and beloved pets, to name just a few.

    Couples & Relationships, Communication Difficulties

Struggles with partners, family, or friends — patterns of conflict, loneliness, or feeling unheard.

    Self-Esteem & Confidence

Negative self-talk, imposter feelings, or a sense that you’re not quite good enough — we can explore that together.

    Life Transitions

Retirement, redundancy, becoming a parent, divorce — big changes that leave you unsure of who you are now.

This is not an exhaustive list.
If you’re unsure whether counselling could help with what you’re going through, please don’t hesitate to get in touch — there’s no obligation.
